Obituary of Mary Frattini
November 6, 2020
Mary Lucy Gorgone Frattini was born on August 11, 1928 to Giovanni and Immaculata Gorgone. After living on the East Side for a few short years, she lived her whole life in Greenwich Village.
Mary is the widow of Peter Frattini, beloved sister of Louise, Yolanda, Joseph, Liza, Jeanne and Nettie. She was the cherished and loving Mother to; Mary-Anne, Patti, Tommy and Johnny; loving Mother-In-Law to Joey, Patti, and Rosanne, wonderful grandmother to Vinny, Carla, Dina (&Sal), Nicole and Peter and beloved great-grandmother to Dominic.
Her Faith was a very important part of who she was. Being a parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua's, she became very involved in many of the activities. She was a Cub Scout Leader, the President of the St. Anne's Society, Member of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society, PTA President of the school, and she worked in the Feast every year.
She was always a hard worker. At a very young age, she worked at the Factory with her mother and sisters. She then worked at Woolworth's with her sister Louise, became a School Crossing Guard, but she worked the longest for the United States Post Office.
She retired from the Post Office at the age of 60 and enjoyed her remaining years being with her family. She rented houses at the Jersey Shore each summer.
Aside from spending time with loved ones, her favorite pastime since retiring, was running trips to Atlantic City twice a month for the Senior Citizens (where according to her, it never snowed). Ha!
Mary was loved and respected by all who had the pleasure of knowing her; she will be missed by all. We take comfort in knowing that she was greeted by the many loved ones who passed before her. May she rest in the sweetest eternal peace.
