Obituary of Francis X Healy

Francis X. Healy passed away in his sleep on Tuesday morning, January 21, 2020 at the age of 93. A life-long resident of Greenwich Village, he was a fixture in St. Anthony's and St. Alphonsus' parishes, serving as an usher, Grand Knight for the Knights of Columbus (Knickerbocker Council); and organizer for numerous charitable and social events in both parishes, often acting as "head chef" at them. He was a man of considerable presence; a robust and jovial conversationalist; an energetic dancer with his wife; and a love of things Irish. The youngest of 13 children himself, originally from Renwick Street, he is survived by his wife of 69 years, Francisca Healy; a son Dennis Healy; a stepson, Michel Landron; an older sister, Alyce Healy Murgolo, and her children, nieces Kathy and Mary Jane Murgolo and nephew Michael Murgolo; and was predeceased by another son, former NYPD Officer, Francis J. ("Joe") Healy. A viewing will be held at Perazzo's Funeral Home, 199 Bleecker Street, New York, NY 10012 on Friday, January 24th from 2 to 6 p.m. with interment at Calvary Cemetery the following day.
