Luca Bonetti (1947–2023)

Luca Bonetti, 76, of New York, NY, passed away in NYC on Saturday, November 11, 2023.

He was born in Lugano, Switzerland on September 28, 1947 to Stella (Frossard) Bonetti and Giorgio Bonetti.  Luca attended Scuola d’arte (CSIA), Lugano before apprenticeships as an art restorer in the museums of Zurich, Basel, Florence, Rome and Copenhagen.  He was also a photographer, painter and designer of furniture and objects. From 1975 he worked as an independent art conservator in New York and Lugano. In 1980 he opened Luca Bonetti Corp art conservation studio in NYC.  He is survived by his wife, Mahen Sophia Bonetti and his daughter, Mariama Stella Bonetti, his brother Mattia Bonetti, his sisters Cristina Poretti and Nicoletta Bonetti. A wake will be held on Saturday, November 18^th from 3:00 to 7:00 pm at Perazzo Funeral Home located at 199 Bleeker Street in NYC.  A memorial service will be held on at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Alzheimer’s Association and Doctors Without Borders would be greatly appreciated.
