It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Sister, Aunt, Cousin, Friend at the amazing age of 94
Josephine was predeceased and reunited with her Mom Rae LaPatriello, Husband John Gillies and Brother John. She was born on August 20th 1930 in NYC , raised and resided on Thompson St. She was proud of her lifelong residence and was quick to show everyone when you stepped out of her building and looked to your right you were able to see the empire state building and for many years when you looked to the left you can see the twin towers. She loved NYC and could not walk down the street without pointing out new and interesting shops and restaurants and people she knew. She was well known for bringing the best bread and pastries to her family and friends outside NYC. Josephine enjoyed traveling, playing bingo, playing cards, visiting casinos , and especially chatting on the phone. She was a vicarius reader and always inspired others to read and trade books with her. Interesting facts: she had her driver license and yet never drove. She could never hold a note but would sing anyway and then laugh and say I can't sing. Her real name is Marie. She had years of memories with all family and friends and will always be remembered and not forgotten.
