Obituary of Richard DiMirra
June 13, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Richard “Richie” DiMirra,
on June 13, 2026, at the age of 78.
A lifelong Manhattan resident, Richie was a true New Yorker whose life was defined by family, friendship, and service. He was happily known to many through his years as a bartender and owner of the beloved neighborhood bar “Jumbles”.
An avid New York sports fan, Richie passionately followed the Knicks, Rangers, Giants, and Yankees. Win or lose, he remained a loyal supporter and loved talking sports with family and friends.
Richie proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force and served as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War era, including active duty service in Japan. He was proud of his military service and carried the values of duty and loyalty with him throughout his life.
Richie treasured time spent at home with those he loved. He found great happiness in life's simple pleasures, especially relaxing and spending time with his cherished companion, "Giuseppe."
But above all else, Richie’s greatest joy was the time he shared with his wife Linda, the love of his life. Together they built 30+ years filled with devotion, companionship, laughter, and countless cherished memories.
Richie is also survived his sister, Joanne (Frank); his niece, Gabrielle (Cory); his nephews, Vincent (Olivia) and Robert (Lisa); and his cherished great-niece, Mia Gloria.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in honor of Richard DiMirra to
Wounded Warrior Project or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
